Del Mar also contains a famous horse racing venue, in addition to its beautiful share of California shoreline.
Just west and north lays Kearny Mesa and Miramar, the former home of the U. S. Navy’s Top Gun fighter pilot training course. This area is more commonly referred to as “North County” and it’s a very nice area to visit. To the east of Miramar, along the coast, is La Jolla, which is part of San Diego but is thought of more as a separate community. There are a number of expensive hotels in the area.
Wherever the search for San Diego hotel rooms ends up, the sure fact will be that any hotel room in San Diego is bound to be very nice, especially among those hotels that are somewhat historic and luxurious, such as what is found over at the Hotel Del Coronado.
